But now, 28 years later (the movie debuted in 1978), I think that they're trying to revive that plan. Mattel dug deep into their toybox and re-used the old Grease prototype toy molds to come up with... erm, I guess you can say "something old, something new". But there are no John Travolta "Danny Zuko" action figures that say "Grease lightning!" when you push a button on their backs, though. None of that stuff. No siree.

This time its something totally unexpected. Very, very unexpected. The toys for the new Superman movie are already out, and it's totally clear that the Mattel dudes decided if they couldn't make a toy range out of the musical, they'd immortalise the musical IN their toys.
Grease is the word, baby.
And now that we're bringing Mattel and Superman into the picture, we now know why Barbie and Ken broke up.
